French Synergies/Synergies françaises Réflexions, Rencontres, Réalisations Flinders University In Adelaide, South Australia Thursday 29 September - Sunday 2 October 2016 The 2016 biennial conference of the Federation of Associations of Teachers of French in Australia, in conjunction with the annual South Australian French teacher Association conference and the support of the Australian Society for French Studies, was held at Flinders University (Bedford Campus), Adelaide, South Australia. The conference brought together teachers and researchers to reflect on aspects of French studies in Australia with a focus on history, culture, pedagogy and technology. The conference facilitated an exchange of perspectives on French studies across all Australian States and Territories, and across the three sectors of education (Primary, Secondary and Tertiary). |

The conference was of two and a half days duration with the opening on Thursday evening 29 September and closing on Sunday 2nd October 2016 at 12.30pm.

- Michel Boiron, Executive Director of CAVILAM-Alliance Française, France, Pedagogical and International focus (TV5 Monde).
- Professeur Emmanuelle Huver, Département de sociolinguistique et didactique des langues (SODILANG), Université Francois Rabelais, Tours, France.
- Professeur Geneviève Zarate - Professor of Language Education at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO); former Head of French in the Foreign Language Program and Director of the Research Group for Teaching Languages and Cultures. She is also the former coordinator of the Council of Europe’s Cultural Mediation and Language Education Project and co-coordinator of the Handbook of Multilingualism and Multiculturalism.
- Dr Carolyn Stott – Lecturer in French at the University of Sydney, NSW. She will present her latest research project on Transition in languages education from the secondary to the tertiary sector.
