LANGUAGE-PEDAGOGY BURSARIES

FATFA, in conjunction with the French Embassy, is delighted to announce three $500 bursaries to support Australian French teachers and their students in 2024.

Immersion Training for Teachers of French in Australia

FATFA is excited to present the amazing opportunity for a French-immersion training for French teachers with INSPE in New Caledonia. It’s designed in priority for Australian teachers of French who could benefit from the immersion and the lessons on French language, rather than for native speakers – for now.

The French Embassy is working with FATFA and INSPE for a reduced rate on this training. More details are in the attached documents.

Please contact your State Representatives if you are interested.

French Language Teaching Assistance in Australia

The Language Assistants Program is an exchange offered through the Embassy which creates the opportunity for French university students to work alongside Australian teachers (and vice versa) to give local school students the rare but invaluable opportunity to learn with a native speaker.

If you are interested in participating in this program as a school host for a French Language Teaching Assistant, please contact the Education Services at The French Embassy of Australia: education.canberra-amba@diplomatie.gouv.fr

Virtual partnerships (last updated May 2021)

New Caledonian schools are seeking ‘virtual’ partnerships with students from all levels from primary to senior school. The program is organised by the Vice-Rectorat of New Caledonia (the equivalent of State Education Department).

For more information please contact Isabelle ARELLANO, Déléguée académique aux relations européennes, internationales et à la coopération Vice-rectorat de la Nouvelle-Calédonie.
